Ponzi is an EXCEPTIONAL boutique Pinot Noir shop out of Oregon. Low production (a few thousand cases a year) and high quality. Easily one of the top 5 domestic Pinot Noir producers. Their stuff sells for $20 - $50/ bottle, but often gets more at auction because it can be hard to get in stores. 2003 wasn't their best year, but the 2002's got very good reviews across the board. For example, their 2002 Willamette Valley received an outstanding 94 point score from Wine Spectator, who described it as "Lithe in texture, vivid in flavor, with a burst of black cherry, currant, huckleberry, cedar, vanilla and exotic spice flavors that hang together beautifully. Rich from the first sip, and the flavors persist impressively. Yum. Drink now through 2012. "

Yeap .... you could verify the quality of a vineyard by its Pinot Noir... and you could say that this wine is the trademark of Ponzi vineyards and is the best between all Oregon's Pinot Noirs and other regions.
You should taste it ... ummmmm .......... the aroma, the taste, the texture, the body .... it creates a lasting impression on the palate and in the memory .
Send my congratulations to your relatives.
