I am fairly new to the whole "exercising thing" and am pretty good and getting cardio in but very weak at weights. I'd like to take a class at my gym just to get a good workout, not specific to anything but I'm really new and am intimidated by how good everyone else is. I took a Power Strength class yesterday & it was wayyy to hard for me. Any suggestions on how I can ease myself into this? Also, wondering if a beginner attending a spin class would be ok? Any thoughts?

I teach classes, and I always like it when someone new comes and tells me they're new! Good for you! You could actually go back into the power strength class and use really light everything, whatever they're using just use light weights and do fewer of. It's normal when just starting to not be able to keep up. If you keep going you'll get stronger.
Sure, we welcome all beginners in all classes, we love it! Go at your own pace, try to not be intimidated by anyone in any class. They're there for their own workout and they aren't paying attention to you, remember this! Stick with the classes, you'll make new friends, and really get to enjoy them.

If there is a free mat pilates class included, this would be excellent. Beginners should be able to go to any class. Just talk to the teacher first about your specific needs. If they are a certified fitness expert then they should tell you exactly what you need to know. Don't over exert yourself and please drink lots of water.

oooh!! take spinning. it's AMAZING. really. it's the most incredible workout, and if the instructor is good it can be so much fun. just make sure you have the instructor set up your bike for you. i know from experience if the bike is not set to correctly to match your height, you can get hurt. good luck!
