Im turning 16 in November. I've worn contacts for about an year exactly now. I want to wear hard contacts because i hear they dont make your eyesight get worse. My mom said I have to be over 18 or something inorder to wear hard contacts. Is this true?

With regard to your vision, contacts are contacts. Most Doctors don't prescribe the hard contacts anymore because the soft contacts are better for your eyes. They breathe.

I know people as young as 11 that wear contacts. The first pair of cantacts I had in 1981 were soft the hard cinatcts were already obsolete.

I have never heard such a thing. And why would you want to wear hard contacts? They are very uncomfortable. I've worked in Optometry for years and have never heard anything like this.

well, back when I was younger the only contacts available were hard and I had them in the 10th grade and a friend had them in the 7th grade...that would be in the early 80's, maybe things have changed, but I don't think so
