I looked for a website that had templates, or a how-to site, but failed miserably. Maybe someone else will find one for you. I do have some suggestions, though. :)

Some tips: use good photos of the finished food when possible, use descriptive language to entice the diner, and make the font fairly large (some older people won't go to restaurants because they can't read the menu).

Unless it's a *really* fancy restaurant that's expected to get huge, you can just print up the menus on your home computer using cardstock. Then, take them somewhere like Kinkos to have them laminated and maybe bound, if you want. The main thing they need is to be descriptive of the foods you're selling, to look clean, and to be easily understood (never underestimate the stupidity of patrons- reeeally spell it out for them). Trying to get colourful (anything except black text on white or ivory paper) usually looks cheap and unprofessional.

I think they make programs for different types of signs and business needs, so I bet menu would be one of the templates. Just get some really pretty paper, and try to make it colorful, and maybe change the font so it doesn't LOOK like a template, and then just print and laminate. You could probably find the software online, somewhere like Amazon, or at a local Office Max of Best Buy.

there are programs you can buy that have semi-programs specifically for menus. just go to an office max or staples and ask for someone to show where you can find a program for it.
