We are travelling with our 19 month old for a two week trip with a single haul 9 hour flight to Malaysia from Australia.

What would you pack?

okay we didn't fly 9 hours, but we did survive 6 with our 11 month old this summer -- since the airlines are super strict now, my advice would be at least two pacifers (to help with pressure changes during flight and because you'll lose one), an empty bottle, his own seat is a must (you won't want to hold him/her for 9 hours) lots of chewable toys and books, a couple of small plastic garbage bags (for the throwup, dirty diapers, dirty clothing) two extra outfits (really just use three sets of pjs, they're easier to change and usually just one piece), plus an extra shirt each for you and your wife, lots of wipes, at least nine disposable diapers and I recommend at least three wash clothes -- think that was everything on my check list before we left. You might want to make sure you order a vegetarian meal for your child, you can usually mash the fruits and vegs, or pack at least a couple of those ready to eat meals but leave them in their own containers. Get as much sleep as you can before you leave because you won't get it on the plane!! Good luck.

Medicine/first aid kit for the baby..prepare for things in case she catches a fever or something. Sounds like your going to go to a lot of places, your all going to be exposed to different temperatures, makes a lot of people sick.

Your 19 month old. That's the most important thing. Don't forget the kid.

Travellers Checks. That way, if you have forgotten anything, you can get it at the local store.
