The one that works best on ME is: When you are hanging around talking, just say, "Hey, Are you getting hungry?" It will catch me off guard every time and gives the excuse to hang out over a meal or a drink without feeling like I've been asked out. Then when it is fun and comfortable you can ask, " Hey, Ya wanna have lunch tomorrow?" ...or something like that. Take it one step at a time and soon you get to that awkward but cute conversation of, "So, like, are we kinda dating, or what?"
It's not so hard. Look for the signals. The girls will let you know subtley if you are moving in the right direction. If you get a "no", shrug it off like its fine. She will wonder if you like her or if you were just hungry and wanted company. You save face and it drives them crazy- makes them think about you a little bit more.
