It looks like I'm doing plenty for my upper abs, but my lower abs and lovehandles just won't go away.

You can't burn fat from specific portions of your body, you can only lose fat across the whole body. Your best option is to minimize your alcohol intake, because although you can't burn fat from specific places your body can grow fat in specific spaces, and the carbs and calories in beer go directly to your abdomen. Cardio exercise is a good option to kickstart weight loss, the higher your heart rate the more calories you burn, be careful not to give yourself a heart attack though. Good luck, fellow exerciser.

cardio cardio cardio...seriously. And mix it up don't think that all you can do is run. No..you can swim which is very relaxing and it streches out all your muscles plus swimming burns more calories than running and is not even near as damaging to yoru joints as running..do anything and everything that may be arobic. Even if you have to start at walking you can walk at a hurried pace with weights in each hand. If you love music and that helps to push your pace and keep you energized then invest in a mp3 player at walmart for under 100 bucks. Whatever it takes its worth it because your worth it.

Try the hula-hoop. If nothing else, it gets you moving, lots of bending to pick that darn thing up, and quite possibly laughing so hard it'll oxygenate your entire system. Maybe even film yourself, send it in to America's Funniest Home Videos, get top price, then take that money & go for a spa treatment...... but I digress.....

Genetics plays a big part here. You cannot "spot train". You will have really strong muscles under a layer of subcutaneous fat. The best you can do is aerobic exercise and follow a strict diet. As a last resort, lipo.

Cut down on empty calories. Beer, chips, candy, soda, that sort of thing. Do sit ups and leg lifts as well as side bends with a dumbell, youll get your results.

Don't crunch or sit up. The muscle needs to be stretched.
