Indeed, one of the more common problems is that your eye isn't wet enough. Or rather, that your eye is more wet than your fingers, and as a result, the lense doesn't much want to come off, due to the surface tension, I'm assuming. Using rewetting drops will permeate the contact (assuming it's a soft lense), and will make it easier to pull out.

Further tips - steer away from your upper eyelid. It's much more likely to just pop out if you slide it toward the outside of your eye (..that is, toward the ear of the same side) ..'cause the lower eyelid is quite taut there.
Also, if it's stuck proper for some reason, ...put a generous amount of drops in your eye while your head is tilted back. Close your eyelids and look down toward your chin, with your eye still closed. ..very lightly tap the center of your upper eyelid.

best of luck

This happened to me when I first got contacts, too. I didn't really try anything special to get them out. Eventually, after pinching and moving them to the side, I got them out. However, if you've been trying for the past hours, your eyes are probably watering. That makes it harder to get them out. Wait a while and then try again.

Thats almost like me! I have a harder time taking and putting on contacts with my left eye! Must be because we're right handed? I dont know haha.

I'm assuming you wear a hard lens like me....the secret is to pull at the corner of your eye and then gently blink...don't force it or blink hard but if you do it gently it will come out. If that does'nt work the only other way I know of is to get one of those little suction cups from your eye doctor.
