First of all, excercise burns calories, not fat. Secondly, you burn calories all day, everyday.
The question is : do you burn more calories than you take in?
If your question is: "How long will it be before I start losing size?," then that's just going to depend on you and your established metabolism, your genetics, and your habits.
As a general rule, you should see some marked results in about 6 weeks to 2 months. If not, work out harder and eat healthier.

You have to exercise for at least 20 minutes before you start to burn anything. The longer you go after that, the more you'll burn.
But, you also need to switch-up your routine. If your body gets used to a certain one, it will take longer and longer to burn the fat during the same exercise.

A few minutes. Your body has energy stored up in your muscles for when you use them next. Once you use that energy your body needs to pull more energy to fill your muscles. Even after you're done exercising your body will continue to burn fat at an increased rate. This is why it can take up to a few hours after exercising to really "feel good."

Hello Sky. Actually your body is always burning fat, that is what the body burns for fuel. But if we take in more calories than we burn, it gets stored in little pockets for fuel later on. Sooo, to answer your question, if you take in fewer calories than you usually do, the body will be forced to burn up more fat stores from your body and poof, you start to lose weight.
