In some countries, Mcdonalds has started it.

1. I don't think you could get enough business. People aren't going to pay you to run to McDonald's. 2. McDonalds would never allow it. I'm sure your thinking, "well they would get paid, so why wouldn't they allow it". McDonald's is very concerned about quality and reputation. In fact concerned really isn't the right word. Obsessed and paranoid is more accurate. They would never allow their product into the hands of a third party. They're not going to take a chance on you tampering with the product, or that you'll deliver it cold. You could work for an existing delivery business. I delivered pizza when I was young, it's a good job. Or there might be a restaurant that would allow you to deliver their food. If you did that, I would suggest you talk with a lawyer to find out what laws apply and what your liabilities are. You don't want to end up in a million dollar law suit because someone got food poisoning. I would think the best way to set it up would be that the restaurant (a local mom and pop type place) would get the delivery license and what ever else you need for the delivery. Then they would have the liability and the responsibility for the food quality. You would then be an employee, but instead of an hourly rate you would make a percentage of the profits. But I don't think there's really a practical advantage to that over just working for a delivery place. I think you'd make about the same amount of money. I think this is a bad idea, but I want to encourage you to continue with different ideas. Try another business idea. It'll take a few times before you come up with a winner.

I heard that they do in other countries (other than the U.S.). The way the McDonald's by me screws up the drive up orders, I can only imagine what they would be with delivery service.
But, I digress. To answer your question, yes it would be a good idea.

It'll just make America fatter and more lazier...
If you eat McDonalds everyday, delivery would be a dream, but if you eat Mcdonalds less than once a week, it is no big deal.

That's a good idea. We're already the most obese nation in the world, let's have greasy fries and burgers delivered to our doors.

That would be great, but they would have to hire a lot of people and with gas prices the way they are, it would be expensive!

not for me. it would only mean their prices would have to go up to cover delivery.
and if it took 45 minutes to get a big mac to ya, could you imagine what kind of shape it would be in, not to mention your fries and shake?

It would be a good idea, but then they would probably raise the prices or something.
