any healthy diet just depends on you if u dont think you should eat that much of something don't...The food pyramid is just an average for everyone to go by but it is in no means perfect for everyone..

Well, the food pyramid is very accurate, but there is a new one, so check it out. And try whole grains, not white breads or pastas.
To see how many calories you need multiply your weight by 12 if you dont excercise, by 15 if you excercise a bit, 18 if you are moderately active or by 21 if you exercise alot each day. If the food pyramid suggests too many calories for you, try diet food options or like I said, whole grains. Hope I helped!!

The food guide pyramid has been revised. We have always needed carbs, carbs give us energy. According to the research we need 55-65% of our calories daily from carbs. The low carb thing last year was silly. If you cut way back on them you'll be too tired, just exercise and watch the sweets, sodas, cheeses, fast foods, fried foods, these are the ones that are killing us, giving us heart attacks, strokes, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc.

You need those grains for a healthy digestive system. People are very confused about carbs right now. They think all carbs are bad. Just the sugary ones are though. Whole wheat is good for you. You just have to eat the right carbs. Fruits have carbs too, but do you think those are bad?

I just read an article about the food pyramid in"BREAKTHROUGHS IN HEALTH' magazine. they said that there is a new food that should be included, and its a type of seaweed that has more vitamins and minerals, well let me put it this way. go to www.thefirst.originallimu.com and see it for yourself.
