Military personnel have an 80% of getting a divorce. It will be difficult to keep a marriage (and a family) going especially if you get deployed. If you have secret or top secret clearance, get out of the NG, get a contractor job or a GS position. If you have more then 10 years in already, then consider reserves with the Coast Guard (So you have a very small chance of getting deployed) The military does an honorable service for our country, but like I said, you will encounter many hardships trying to raise a family.

You really need to talk to your fiancee about this. It's going to be her life too. There can be successful military/Army marriages. I have one of them. We've been married going on 18 years with all those years in the Army. It can be a very difficult life, but it can also be a very good life. She has to be strong and independent. She has to be able to handle whatever situation comes up on her own. With the Iraq situation, you stand a good chance of deploying....maybe more than once. I have no complaints over the life we've had. At the same time, we look forward to the life we'll share after he retires. If you miss the lifestyle, then you should try to go RA again. Discuss it with her and see what she says. If she can't handle it, it's better you find out now than later. Ultimately, the final decision will be yours and what's best for you.

Good luck!!

Its up to you in the end but just remember your more likely to regret the things you never did rather then the things you did do....

After being Active Duty I think it would be a hard transition to just jump back into civilian life. I plan on staying active until the Army tells me otherwise.

if u miss the lifestyle; then i would say go or stay in the regular army. if you don't then you will probably regret it later. Besides; they give you pretty good perks in the Army if you are married

With war raging throughout the world, your chances of having to face combat is as good as the RA guys, so if you like RA,,get back into it.
