What right does any human being have to judge another as an abomination??? Was someone actually crass enough to say that?!? Do you really think that??????????? Did you happen to take a look at what century you are living in?
Every human being deserves love with a chosen partner and mate and deserves to have that love formally recognized by family, friends, higher power, community, and the law. It's high time people get over petty unfounded prejudices and start learning the meaning of respect, love, and compassion.

Yep..gotta say..I think it's just a hate thing. When I look around, I don't see gay people trying to interfere in the lives of straight people in any way. They want the same rights the rest of us have--like being able to be sure the government can't remove your kids for no reason, or that your partner can't visit you when you're critically ill in the hospital. Beyond that, they would like very much to be left alone! It's A FEW straight people interfering in the lives of gay people, as I see it, not the other way around.

For some it is hate. For others it is religious (most religions believe that homosexuality is morally wrong). For others it is societal preservation
Society has a vested interest in maintaining the strength of families. A strong family unit is a sign of a strong society. If gay marriage weakens the family unit then gays should not marry.
Society certainly needs to have a higher number of heterosexuals to homosexuals. If the ratio was ever unbalanced the society could not maintain a steady growth rate.

more men are opposed to it than woman. allot of men, well it gets them to thinking. if they have male friends, say they play golf or poker with that,s OK. but when they are around gay men and they like them ( as a friend) the straight man thinks he himself might be gay. women on the other hand are more sure of themselves. a woman has more freedom in doing "men things" and most people wouldn't think of her as gay. but let a man, say make a dress for his daughter, people will think he is gay.yes it is stupid, but look at the world and all the stupid things that go on.things we should worry about murder, wars that never really end and famine. no we worry about 2 people of the same sex getting married. by the way, i am straight.

in the bible, God condemns those who practive the lifestyle. this is still viewed as a perversion in the eyes of most religions.
even if you take God out of the equation (which you must to get a logical explanation) you will find that there is no proliferation of the homosexual lifestyle, other than by those who want to be found "normal", even though nature itself abhors the practice.
if homosexuality were truly a "normal" lifestyle, then you could breed one with another and they would conceive. the ability to conceive by this practice shows that nurture, not nature, supports the lifestyle.
that said, i do believe that there are factors that can confuse one about their gender and sexual preferences. most of these are from outside influences, but some are truly biological because a cell or group of cells become radicals during the gestation period of the embryo.
should we hate those who are homosexual? no. we are commanded in the new testament to despise the sin, but love the sinner.
there will always be those however, who hate those who practice the lifestyle. it is my bet that those who have such a hate in them, have a desire to either practice the lifestyle as an experiment, have the desire to be homosexual and cant deal with it, or they were abused as a child.
sadly, there are those who will hate and do hateful things in the name of God, when He alone has the divine will to judge a persons soul.

A most excellent question. It's mostly a "you're gonna kowtow to my religious beliefs" sort of thing. Then there's the homophobes, that's where the real hate sets in. Can't help but wonder about those people and where their true hate lies - could it be inside themselves?

I know! Well, it says it's wrong in the almighty Bible, so I guess that means it's Christians' business. But sometimes people who think they might be gay themselves try and hate it more so they try and convince themselves they're not gay. Same with some people who try and prove they're "manly" by driving huge trucks. "My ***** is much bigger than yours." - Quoted from System of a Down.

Quite. Why should people be so determined to deprive other people of happiness?
One really ironic thing is that the US president says what a wonderful thing marriage is, and in the same breath he says he wants less of it (he wants to outlaw same sex marriage). I know GWB was never blessed with an abundance of brain cells, poor man, but this is ridiculous...

many people have hate because they are scared of someting thats normal and yes i agree that theyre hateful and they have no right because what if gays told straights its wrong to marry the opposite gender i mean they never say anything hateful so i dont understand why people must bash them....its unfair
