I get really stressed when I drive. In my driver's ed. classes AND during my driver's test, I was always taught to get up to speed right away when the light turns green, to go no less than 5 mph under the speed limit, and to not linger in the left lane. I've always been taught to be a very assertive driver. So, I recently moved down to Kentucky where he people are extremely passive drivers and they lag in the left lane, and cut people off like it's going out of style. It drives me up a wall and I will probably lose hair over how stressed it makes me. Any advice?

Hmmmm....you're like me behind the wheel.
"Get the HELL off MY racetrack!"
Do yourself a favor, and take it easy.....driving is THE most stressful part of my day,but I have to drive from job to job.Anyone that gets in my way is holding up my work.
If you drive just to get around then don't let other drivers work you up like that.Just be glad that you don't have to be behind the wheel ALL DAY like some of us! Unless,of course, your job demands constant windshield time.
Then you're stuck! Just deal with it....chew gum...play yer favorite tunes...just don't do like mo'fo's here in DC and try to run someone off the road!
If ya wanna see how easy ya got it...come up to DC for a weekend....try driving around here! You'll go back home and want to give all the local drivers a Safe Driving medal!

Possessing a driver's license indicates that a minimum of driving skill was demonstrated. Sadly, many people do not improve, and many actually get worse.
Many people consider the passing lane an extra lane where it is acceptable to travel at velocities beyond the speed limit, (fast lane?) but not enough to make a timely pass effort.
Changing lanes is altering the direction of travel and requires signaling prior to the maneuver (mandatory in my state, most often used when a driver decides he or she requires another driver to exercise courtesy).
If someone drives in a manner contrary to the guidelines above or breaks any other rules of the road, it seems to help if I pray for them. Something like "God, please take the soul of this person." "Immediately if possible." I try not to ask for too many favors like that. Asking for intervention for something trivial like that probably earns demerits and when your balance reaches zero, you may have to pay up...

Might not be you. If you were motivated enough to take the class you're motivated enough to drive. Do this; check the web on Flax Oil. Also, before you get to the wheel, about an hour or so, eat an apple. Keep doing that. Okay?

GOOOSSSSS FRABA!!!!! GOOSSSSSS FRABA!!!!!!!! Just keep in mind that they are from a different state. If they all drive that way then you can't change it girl. If a situation comes up you need to try to stay calm and breath deeply. It may take awhile to finally become one with the road and the drivers around you, but practice makes perfect.

What they taught u is correct and know that know matter the state there will always be aggresive drivers. i've drove tractor trailer in most of the US and didn't find one state with no aggressive drivers.

invest in a bike or those sneakers that double as roller skates. OR leave really really early in the morning before any one else wakes up.
Take the bus, if there is one available.
Carpool, and nap on the way to your destination.
Become a recluse and don't leave your house until they invent a way to teleport or beam yourself whereever you need to go.

Try listening to calming music or a book to help you relax while you drive. I mean, I'm in Atlanta, and it helps me to relax. I just wish I'd found out about it before I got road rage and ran over those six people (wink wink)!

Get used to it. Most of the people were taught to drive by their fathers and didn't get over it.
