This guy has flirted with me before and will ask me questions related to school. I've know him for about 6 months. But when I've tried to make personal conversation, I mean small talk that doesn't have to do with school he acts really shy and backs off. But then he'll flirt again, but then will sometimes not look my way and then flirt again. He talks to these ladies in my class that are much older and kind of heavy. I'm not saying I'm great or anything but I'm just a little older then him and thin. He'll make conversation with them easily he's even rubbed their backs before. It's like he so comfortable with them. Why can he only joke with me and ask me questions? I guess I wish I could at least be his friend. Any opinions with help on why he acts this way, different toward me then them?

Don't feel too badly about yourself mate. If anything he's the one who should be doing the introspecting.
He flirts with you because he's interested in you, and most likely as a potential date due to his shyness around you and apparently only you.
Most blokes (especially the younger ones) don't seem to know how to approach a girl whom they really like, so they settle for half-hearted attempts at flirting while avoiding anything drastic that might result in rejection and possible humiliation. I would know, I was one of them!
Its an ego thing. =)

Just a guess here, but it seems he likes you a lot, and is afraid to make a move, that would appear stupid to you.
With the other ladies, he just doesn't care, as he really isn't interested in them.
You need some alone time with him, see if you can't get him to join you for a soda or coffee. That way you will be one on one, and can talk freely, and get to know one another better.

He likes you. When you start something he gets intimidated and backs off a little bit. Give him time to build that confidence while he keeps talking to you. As for the other girls, to him they are probably less threatening so he doesn't feel he needs to impress them as much as he does you. Give him time to make the move. Good luck

Hey girl....it seems you are in love with this guy.....
You seem a little too young to be in a serious relationship. But you know what, I can understand how exactly you must be feeling.
You are not sure about your feelings, and you are not sure about him. You dont know why is he doing this with you. There is uncertainity all around. You want to be in it and at the same time, you want to get out of it. You know what you want and you dont know what to do.
And I tell you: Get him, or get rid of him.
If you feel so strongly let him know. dont be in doldrums. But let him know that you are up to a serious and meaningful relationship. No playin around (and you too please.)
It is better to lose a person by letting him know that you love him than losing someone by not letting him know that you loved him.

I think he might act different around them because maybe he is just a little nervous around you. And he probably likes you more than them just doesn't know how to act around you or he doesn't want to make a fool of himself.

My guess is that this guy likes you alot and that he can talk to other girls he doesn't. To solve this problem you have to let him get to really know you. You have to make him feel like you want him to talk to you.

because he likes you alot more than those other poeple. he acts comfortable around people he doesn't need to impress, but when he's around you, he gets really nervous because he doesn't want to say the wrong thing in front of you.
its because he really likes you. trust me.
