Do you mean Joseph Smith? Mormon is a nick name. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a Christian church. Mormon was a prophet, historian, and author of one of the Books in the Book of Mormon.

Joseph is a prophet of God. Joseph restored the Church of Jesus Christ in the 1800's. He was given authority by God and given the keys to the Priesthood.

The church continues to be lead by a prophet today as in days of old. One of the key elements of the church is that it is led by direct revelation from God.

Johnny Smith is a retired schoolteacher who, as a result of a car accident, has developed psychic abilities. He is played by Anthony Michael Hall. An encounter with a carnival trickster in the first episode (before the car accident) makes it clear Johnny already has some psychic abilities. However, after the coma, their nature changes from intuition to visions, the latter requiring urgent action, even when personally inconvenient, whereas earlier he only uses his ability on a carnival trickster to amuse his date (Sarah Bracknell).

No. it really is Joseph Smith, no longer John, and Joseph lived way after John did. John Smith became British. Joseph became American (born in 1800's). as far as i comprehend, they're no longer appropriate, yet then there have been a thousand million Smiths, so it really is plausible, i wager. And definite, that action picture became fantastic. thoroughly traditionally inaccurate, yet fantastic.

I'm sure there have been John Smith's in the church, but I've never heard of any of them.
Do you mean Joseph Smith? If so, see Angel's answer, it's spot on.

Great Question! Joseph Smith is the moron who claims that he spoke with god on the top of a mountain (here in America) in about the later 1800's and brought back stones with some type of scripture and was bent on spreading the word. So he sold a wealthy farmer on the idea that he (is) a profit and financing his beliefs. In my opinion, this guy in todays world would be a used car sales manager.

It's Joseph Smith and he is considered a prophet in the Mormon religion (Christians don't think so, though).

I am pretty sure he was the Founder of that Religion.
An Angel appeard to him and showed him some Golden Plate's with writing on them.
I think he started the Mormon's from those Plate's.
Now, the BIBLE say's that satan can Appear as an Angel of LIGHT to Decieve People.
Not to Offend, but my Personal Belief is that John Smith had been DECIEVED.
That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it.
Ditto..................

John Smith is one of many false prophets that Jesus speaks of. The Mormon Cult is very possessive and dangerous in it's satanic rituals and hushery craft.
