...Why a Jew can grow his beard in order to practice his faith, But when Muslim does da same, he is an extremist & terrorist!
...Why a nun can be covered from head 2 toe in order to devote herself to God, But when Muslimah does the same she oppressed
...When a western women stays at home 2 look afta her house & kids she is respected coz of sacrificing herself & doing good 4 the household? But when a Muslim woman does so by her will, they say, she needs to be liberated!
...When a Christian or a Jew kills someone, religion is not mentioned, but when Muslim is charged with a crime, it is Islam that goes to trial!
...When someone sacrfices himself to keep others alive, he is noble and all respect him. But when a Palestinian does that to save his son from being killed, his brother's arm being broken, his mother being raped, his home being destroyed, and his mosque being violated -- He gets the title of a terrorist! Why? Because he is a Muslim!
What do you think of this?

great wording.. i agree with u.. and unfortunately this is whats been going on and apparently from the answers ur getting, it will keep happening for a long time... :(
people are ruining Islam's reputation and hurting others by doing so. There are too many uneducated and naive people in this world who are too ignorant to actually open their minds a little and o learn about what Islam is really about and to see how good the true muslims are..
God bless u

I think that this is a transitional time when many cultures are being forced to meet by global circumstance. It is a problem, or is perceived as such, because ultimately they are forced to meet as equals and it seems that many believe in the superiority of their own culture. This goes both ways.
Your examples are pertinent and apt, but you should remember that the Jew was seen as dark, forbidding and threatening throughout a large part of Western history. Quite often the image of the bearded Jew was used to bring fear. There are many examples of this. I'm sure if you did a search you would find some going back into the Mediaeval time. The same can be said of women and their place in Western culture and representation. The idea of the noble martyr giving his life for a cause is widespread in the quasi-worship of the military in many Western countries. Things like war memorials, tombs to the unknown soldier, war cemeteries. These are all presented as noble sacrifices, and it is not unreasonable for some to see the actions of the partisans or resistance fighters of 1940s Europe as similar to the actions of some groups active in many Muslim countries today.
The image of the Jew and of women and of national resistance in the West have undergone an assimilation, an internalisation. They are less "different." The image of the Muslim in the West as "the Other" dates from the Mediaeval and Crusade period. In a sense there is less familiarity, so there is less mutual understanding. I say mutual because there seems to be a fairly constant reference to the Crusades in Muslim rhetoric about the West. This is a divisive concept because Muslims must know that apart from a very small minority in the West, the Crusade mentality is generally seen in a very dim light. Overall, the West has become secular and their is a fear that Muslims in the West are not accepting of secularism, and secularism is seen as the triumph of progress over ideas like the Crusades, sexism anti-semitism and ultimately racism.
While I agree with many of your examples (and by the way people of other visible minorities are just as susceptible to the kinds of injustices as you list in your question), I think that goodwill, time, understanding and tolerance on all sides is required to remedy these.
It's obvious that Western societies need to allow and indeed embrace difference, because the only true democracy is a place where no decisions are made until all points of view are expressed and heard. There are however also some valid expectations that can be made of all groups in the society. For instance, on the Muslim side it is very difficult for Westerners to accept the rhetorical construct "infidel." It is not universally used by Muslims, but it does have some currency and it is perceived, and it is, derogatory and lacking in respect. Muslims should and must be allowed to practise their religion as they see fit, up to the point that it infringes on others. No claim to exceptionalism such as the "only true faith" can survive in a pluralistic, secular society, and to reject pluralistic, secular values is to place oneself on the outside of the society. One cannot place oneself outside and insist on being let in.

Sister why bother asking a pack of wolves to protect your sheep?
People are getting more sensible and world is changing slowly. There always will be people who will justify their hate to Islam and from Islam to others.
"Drowning man stratches for the straw" sounds like a valid seeing some dude is trying to turn this argument about why Muslims don't think Jesus is god.

i visit respond to one in all those questions. at the same time as a jew or a christian kills someone it really is no longer oftentimes because of non secular beliefs, yet at the same time as a muslim kills his own daughter because he believes she presented shame to the kin or Islam it really is because of the religion. at the same time as a muslim terrorist kills harmless sufferers in a bomb attack that is for non secular applications, no longer own causes. at the same time as a set of muslims stone a woman for being raped that is for non secular applications. If a Muslim guy killed his spouse for having an affair then that is for own causes, yet at the same time as he says he had the right to because of a few quranic passage then it turns into about faith. Islam would not make itself seem undesirable, muslims make Islam seem undesirable. at the same time as a set of Christians blow up an abortion hospital then that is for non secular applications and the community speaks out adversarial to their non secular beliefs, so that you will see that it relies upon on the project.

I actually read the koran, Did you know that as a man you have the right to BEAT your wife if you suspect that she may THINK about disobedience in the future? Islam is cool like that. women are still stoned according to Islamic law today. the examples you are making are not really close to reality.

You're 100% right. The majority of people don't think about what they say or the reason they think the way they do. They just accept what others tell them, even if it's not the truth.
