My father just told us that he wants to quit his job this Feburary, sell the house, RV around the country from April-July, and then move somewhere new. I don't know what to think!!! I am so scare, and nevrous. We are not sure if we are going to do it, but normally when he gets an idea we do it. What is it like to RV? There is going to be my parents, my little brother, 11, and me, 14. Can you tell me if you like it or if you hate it? Do you get an "me" time? Please just tell em what you can, and maybe I will not be so scared.

I knew we should not have let my dad watch "RV"! LOL

We are home schooled, so school is not the problem! Ug

I think it will be sort of fun, but we will have nothing to come back to, no where to go. It just scares me to death.

We have a bus style RV two fold out sofa beds and the big Bed room in back... so everyone have their own bed. when my kids were little we just had a camper van but we out grew that when they were like 4...
To be honest if your going to tour the country there's no better way. I always hated hotel beds...or rather thinking about what the people did in that bed before me?
you don't have bypass a pretty spot along the highway
because there's no services you just walk to your fridge and make what you want.
another point is look what happened to those people who lost their homes to hurricanes. If they had an RV they could stay in it until they rebuilt the house.

Sounds like fun. I haven't lived in an RV, but my father once had a camper-trailer. It was okay but cramped and the beds were hard.

Don't worry about moving. It sounds like your father has things figured out and is confident enough to take care of the family.

Enjoy the road trips. Get your camera and laptop ready and blog everything.

Have them buy a house before you leave... what if there's an emergency and you need to spend a lot of money and sell the rv. at least you would have some place to go back to when the event is over.

What other options do you have? You are under your parents supervision and unless they are abusive, they are your legal custodians until you attain adulthood. You had better take the next two years preparing for adulthood. I would begin to take correspondence courses--skills that are usable in many states and perhaps even different countries. Make sure that you are completely computer literate; know as many programmes as possible. Go on-line and find out which jobs are in highest demand. Jobs in the hotel industry are universal and are in high demand. Instead of being scared, be challenged.
