Sure, I'll start doing that when you stop driving your gas-hogging, pollutant-spilling vehicle to work every day. Why don't you ride a bike? My cigarette butts are biodegradable; the exhaust from your car is killing our environment.

My point is, there are a lot of "bad" things people can stop doing, but they probably won't. Personally, I find it offensive when I see someone walking his or her dog, they let the dog "do its business" and then don't stop to clean up after the dog. Granted, this isn't bad for the environment, but it does kill the grass, it stinks and it's an eyesore. Just like throwing butts out the window...it's laziness. Or what about the people who throw down candy wrappers on the street, or any other trash for that matter...why haven't you singled out those people? I work in downtown Atlanta, and see very few cigarette butts lying around. I do, however, see MANY food wrappers, styrofoam cups, etc.

AMEN!!!

The same goes for all litter! Just that cig butts don't degrade like so much other litter. That butt w/ be there aa year from now if I don't pick it up! If it's in front of my home, I'm required by law to pick it up. That's only part of what bothers me about it.
I taught my children that only trash throws trash. As exampled by the fact that there is very little trash in the neighborhoods of people who are not trash; but you can barely walk w/out stepping on something in the trashy neighborhoods. I do believe that's why we call trashy people by that term. I don't wnat to live in a trashy place. My children & I pick up trash wherever we go.

it isn't just cigarette butts that has been thrown on the streets, there is all sorts of rubbish on the streets and laying on the land, really you shouldn't single out just one kind of polluter when there are many.

I knock the paper end off mine and put the filter in my pocket until I can put it in the trash. In the military it's called field stripping

No, I wont put them in your yard though. Why does it bother you? There's all kinds of other trash why rag on us smokers more than we already get raged on.
