If you have a recordable CD and a CD writer then it's cool, you can write whatever data you want on it...doesn't matter if its a music...document file, picture or a video. A USB drive is aother storage device, functions like a floppy but it's much more reliable than a floppy and you can store up to 1gigabyte( or probably more) of data. try www.newegg.com or www.tomshardware.com

Recordable CD's can take up to 700 megs, that's equivalent to about 500 of your floppy diskettes. They can be formatted to work like a diskette, but usually they are more cumbersome and easier to use for one-time writes. If you use CD-RW, you can rewrite like on a diskette but again, it's not so practical unless you're used to it.

When you mentioned "USB" what you are talking about is a PEN DRIVE. You can basically buy a 512 MB pen drive for about 40$ and you can use this as a transportable hard drive to go back and forth between computers. You can get them at any computer store or office supply store like "STAPLES". Basically, you just stick it in a USB port and it works like another hard drive and is usually recoginized by "REMOVABLE DRIVE X" where X can be any letter from D to Z depending on your system.

maximum persons do no longer even think of roughly this, yet once you do no longer prefer to apply memory sticks, floppy disks, or purchase a exterior puzzlingchronic, then yet another determination is to open up a clean Yahoo account ! it could postpone to a million gigabyte, and the "new account" is the place you may placed all your college artwork (comments, spreadsheets, powerpoint shows, and so on.). that's what I fairly have carried out. I fairly have my very own Yahoo account for all of my digital mail. My different Yahoo account is each little thing that has to do with my employer corporation. I only get into my commonplace account, connect the record, spreadsheet, or despite, and then digital mail it to myself interior the recent account. that's going to be there continually, and you may get right of entry to it from any workstation that has cyber web. in actuality, you're able to have separate Yahoo bills for: Banking Jokes Pictues employer correspondence and so on.

USB or flash drives can be purchased at any electronics store, or even Walmart or Target (I think). I bought mine for $40, but I think they're as cheap as $15 or $20. There's a USB port on the modem of your computer that they plug in to and they're pretty easy to use. If you don't want to purchase one, what I've done in the past is save the file to the computer's desktop and then emailed the attached file to myself. Then you can delete the file from the computer.

You can use the recordable cd's, just dowload a program like nero that is able to burn the files on them. Its fairly simple with the right tools for the job.

Send your files to your Yahoo Briefcase.
That will buy you time to rectify your situation.
