Religion belongs in the garbage, not in schools. The alleged correlation between jerk kids and no religion in schools is nothing more than a coincidence, as parents today are close to worthless. School is not day care, or a moral training ground. Quit b i t c h i n g and do your job as a parent.

Christians are the minority in this fight. Most of today's society was founded on some kind of Religion. Through the years the moral ground on which this country was founded is slowly eroding away. The Devil is at work fighting to keep Religion out of school. It already won to keep it out of Government. The next step they will try and take is to keep us from doing our Religion in public. There really is very little we can do, except elect Religious people into the Government and hope they make a difference.

No one can stop another person from praying in school, just like if a student wants to take a bible to school and organize a bible study amongst their peers during lunch or study hall, no one can stop them. It is not so much raging over what we Christains don't have, it is utilizing that which we do have. Jesus's teachings weren't something the vast majority wanted around but he spread his message through a little place called Galilee and look what time did for it.

Your mindset is religious theocracy, the very thing that is the problem in the Middle East. The Taliban used the EXACT same arguments to promote their theocratic agenda, tying in societal failure, etc. Thomas Jefferson says it best: "Erecting the "wall of separation between church and state," therefore, is absolutely essential in a free society" and "I am for freedom of religion, and against all maneuvers to bring about a legal ascendency of one sect over another".

It absolutely amazes me that so many people today have been infected with some sort of insidious mental virus that leads them to the insane certainty that the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of a bunch of ignorant Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders represent some kind of cosmic 'TRUTH' about fundamental matters of existence and reality. A universe in which all that exists are the earth and heaven, a solid 'firmament' structure (the sky) separating the earth from heaven (terrarium earth), talking snakes (with legs) and donkeys, a shepherd staff that turns into an asp, demons chased out of people and into pigs, friendly spirits, evil spirits, walking on water, multiplying loaves and fishes, food falling from the sky, conception by a ghost, people raised from the dead, the sun stopping in its tracks, parting seas, people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky), world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain, creating people from a dust bunny and a rib, a magical tree of knowledge, god speaking from a burning bush... and ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker.
In a sane world, anybody running around spouting ANY of that crap, would be locked up in the State Farm for the Funny. Apparently, though, mass insanity seems to convey some sort of free pass for the loony.
And you you want to teach this ludicrous crap to our children?
Get a grip.

To begin with, because we would not agree on where religion belongs. I, for one, am very glad religion is not taught in schools. You see, we have a right NOT to be brainwashed by churches, especially not to have our children brainwashed. Pray wherever you wish, but don't make me pray with you.

Religion is made up by kings. Kings had no control of their people and had to come up with a "higher power" story to scare their people into submission.
"oh Yes, People of my kingdom, God had told me, the rich guy, to lead you into battle so that I may be richer and have more land. and if you don't do it, God will punish us all. mainly you, cause i'm rich."
I don't believe. and I do consider myself a somewhat spiritual person.

Yes, one person who isn't you spoke up...how dare anyone that isn't YOU want equal say in how our country is! Idiot.
People came to this country to get away from oppressive religion among other things. Why do people like you have to try to put back what those people tried to leave behind when they came here!
Leaving religion to church and family, in the way that is SACRED and not lowered like you all make it now, will not end your faith.

welcome to the secular scientific age.. if you want to keep talking to your invisible pretend friend.. that's fine by me.. just stop forcing him onto others.. you want your children to learn about your invisible pretend friend.. teach him your self.. it's called parental responsibility.. why should people who don't believe what you believe have your views forced on them.. thus endeth the lesson..
