I will tell you that since religion has left the school, most children have no respect for their self, teacher and adults. And who has the right to tell us not to pray at the sport arenas. If, I want to pray I and many of do. We have got to come up with a way to but God were he belongs. It only took 1 person to raise cane and she got her way. I think we need to fight back what we lost.
GOD BLESS EVERYONE!!!

This is a very good blog.
Yes we need God in the picture. The USA was a christian counry from the start. Now people want to do anything they want and don't want to feel bad of there sin. But I think we should stand up for are rights. It schools they teach about Gays, Islam, Budist, ect But not Christainity But why(Because he is the really God and the devil wants to keep the truth out the heads of are Children and spreding the light) But it shows that the end times are coming up. Did you know that the lady who helped take the prayer and the ten commandments out of schools. Son became a christian and now goes around preaching and fights to get it back in school.
Well God is on the move and nothing can stop him

Because religion does not belong in school. I agree with every poster on here who says that religion does not teach respect. I will go on to agree with the poster that said the schools need to teach respect. I firmly believe that a lack of God or Allah, or any other religion in schools has absolutely no bearing on children's behavior. It truly comes down to how the parents raise the child, and what they teach them about respect, love, and morality.
Also, contrary to what some right wing religous people believe (I spent my whole life being a hard-core "bring God back to America" Republican, before finally realizing that America is not, nor was it EVER about God. It IS about freedom.) I think the seperation of church and state is very important. Consider for a moment, you want God to be brought into school, well, instead of God how about we all stand up and say our prayers to the God of Nintendo, or Satan, or whatever religous figure you disagree with. Sure, your child has the option to not participate, but they will be force fed everyone else's view of what is acceptable. That's a pretty intimidating image isn't it? I don't think an effort should be made to keep Christians or any other religions from being practiced. It is however, amazing to see people who go on and on about this country being founded on Christianity. That is not the case. Freedom is the founding belief. The problem is that not only do most religions want their belief held high, but many want to stomp out any 'non-believers'. Keep religion out of school (allow your kid to pray if he/she want to) but DO NOT have a 'majority rules" system where those who do not believe are made to feel like outcasts. We should not be trying to recreate the horrors of history by encorporating a general covernment-endorsed religion.

In the days when 99.9% of Americans were Christian/Catholic, religion in schools was well accepted.
With all the different religions out there now, it is being squeezed out by the Athiests at the ACLU and liberal politicians.
While I can understand some of their points, I think the real problem is our schools no longer teach Morality.
It used to be that parents and teachers agreed on what behaviors were acceptable and which were not.
Then came Dr Spock & told parents...let your kids do whatever they want (He has since apologized for being so very wrong and ruining most of a generation).
Schools try to teach that nothing is right or wrong, don't judge anyone, all lifestyles are OK...unless schools do start to teach that there really is right & wrong (regareless of what religion you are) things will never improve. Parents need to teach their kids the difference between right & wrong, and support the Teachers when kids fail to act properly.

Religion doesnt teach respect, so in regards to children have no respect for there teachers and self, that has nothing to do with religion. Look at there parents.. Look at there home life and then you may see why they have no respect! If your given no respect, do you think you will give it? no you wont and most kids do not get respect from there parents/teachers etc.. Religion has no place in school. How many different religions are there? Too many to count on the one hand. Do you want your christian child learning about the muslim faith? No you dont..Does a muslim family want there child learning about the Jewish faith? NO! If you want your child to learn religion then send them to a school that is a RELIGIOUS SCHOOL (makes sense aye)
If you want to bring religion back into public schools (where it doesnt belong) then you be prepared to have your children learning about EVERY religion..

Being a Christian, I will throw a monkey wrench in the works...
Religion does not belong in school...
GOD DOES. God is not a fanatic on religion but relationship based.

Everyone claims Amendment N0. 1 as freedom of speech. I claim as freedom of religion. It does not say freedom FROM religion.

Until the Christian community can walk in the love, power and glory of God in their lives, the church will remain listless and care less on issues like this. Nothing will change until the selfishness of belief is sacrificed for unity and lifting up of Jesus.
If people are offended of the truth, so be it. Most nonbelievers offend others for Christians stance of faith upon God, let it return to them. But until Christians stand for the absolute truth, then they have no standard but personal view.
If you lift Jesus up, HE will draw men unto Him. It is that simple.

Is the game that imp to you that you need to pray? If so go for it. As for prayer being needed in schools, I disagree. If your in a religious school then yes. As for children being disrespectful, I highly doubt if you made them be more religious that anything would change. It is up to the parents to teach a child to be resepectful. Jade H you have a great point. Which religion woudl you bring into schools exactly?

Religion belongs in a place, where people need to have a choice. I agree, that religions of all kind are being pushed out of important places. Its unfair to have political matters, and official "rules" banning the expression of religious matters.

"most children have no respect for their self, teacher and adults." I blame this on bad parenting, not on lack of religion in schools. Religion, morals, and ethics need to be taught at home. Teachers spend enough time attempting to teach basic spelling and arithmetic without people expecting them to be spiritual guidance counselors as well.

I send my children to Christian School because of this. If EVERY Christian would send (& support) their kids to Christian school it would be so affordable! The reason it is expensive is because there are so few people supporting them. This is the beginning of changing things in all areas. The children are taught about God from the beginning in every thing they do, so they will be prepared to go out and change the world for the better.

As for the person who says religion causes war.....God is love and if your religion wants to harm people..you need to discover the one true God!
