In "Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul" there is a story about a guy who said that black cats are looked over and are hard to adopt out. He began to give all black cats the same cute name and it seemed to draw people's attention. The name? Jellybean.
I thought it was too cute!

I called my last black kat Ja Ja. It's an African name for God's
gift. I had to give him up because I had to move to get away
from some crackheads harrassing me for a place to dope.
And I couldn't let him stay out because it was supposed to drop below freezing. A few days later, his spirit came to me in a dream. I felt warmth, and saw him on a pillow. I knew he was letting me know the Humane Society found him a good home.

I've always liked Voodoo for a black cat. What about Salem?
In South Africa, we had a king of the Zulu's Shaka, so you could call him that - or there is another word, Impi (which means warrior in Zulu) which I think rocks for a cat's name!

Well, I'm one for naming my pets by cartoon characters or even just plain movies. So, I suggest: Salem "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch", Felix "Felix the Cat", Figaro "Pinocchio", Tom "Tom & Jerry", and Sylvester "Looney Tunes".
If this is not attracting you, how about naming it by the color: Onyx, Night, Boo, Midnight, etc.

We have a female black cat we named Neffertari. It's an Egyptian name. They honored black cats. We call her Neffy for short.

I got a all black cat...And I named her daisy... I like it because she's black and dark but "daisy" makes you think of a yellow cat...But I would Name it if it's a boy Sun and if it's a girl Star..lol I love those names..lol They are so cute!
