Why is my firefox so slow?

Question

I just got firefox yesturday on my computer because my internet explorer isnt working. When i first got it, it was faster then internet explorer but today its really slow and it wont let me click links to send messages, log in etc. I think its because i have fire wall but im not sure. what i think it is that my fire wall is restricting to many things on firefox how to change the restriction on my firewall if that is the case! I need an answer to why my mozilla fire fox is so slow it cant be because of my computers ram because yesturday it was going fast (1 second and a page open but know its 5 min). Can anyone also tell me what is proxy and how do i make less restriction on a perticular software (firefox).

i also just downloaded it yesterday and mine is still fast.you sound like you have a virus.if IE wasn't working then that would be best guess.IE is so full of holes for hackers and that is why i changed,tired of the virus crap.run scans and then run your defragment & disk cleaner from system tools and see if doesn't get fast again,if not then redownload it.they have a home page link for help.click on it in far upper right corner,just below your red X to close browser.good luck.

I have firefox and its the best thing ever. Get rid of the fire wall and you won't want to get off the internet.
