Some parents even beat their kids (Think Homer Simpson). Do yuo think this is affecting our children, or do you hink they know it's a typical television cliche'?

I think it's typical television cliche' and that they are more of a tongue in cheek look at the typical nuclear family. To take something like a commercial as anything other than a funny 30 second spot to promote a product, you're thinking too deep.
