Has there ever been a non christian president? Would such a person ever get voted in? Ridiculous and totally wrong, but true.
Perhaps the all amazing George Bush, isn't as much of a Christian as everyone thinks. And if he was, perhaps his decision would be better informed because God would be guiding him. I don't really know everything about George Bush, and doubt I could do a better job than him. There are also examples of many wars in the bible.
Anyway, I think the idea is that you pursue war until peace is achieved. I.e: Control all threats, such as Iraq and Iran, in order to secure peace.

When did America become a Christian theocracy ruled by holy men of God. Get real. Just because there are many Christians in America, does not make America a Christian country. George W. is a sinful man, surrounded by sinful people, that help him make bad decisions.
True Christianity is not based on supporting George W, but on following Jesus Christ. But if America is blatantly attacked by another nation, and it has the power to respond, should it defer it's right to try and prevent future attacks by removing the attackers? Should we not protect our freedom before we become prisoners of true religious oppression like you have in most middle-eastern countries?

Jesus, in saying turn the other cheek (a very common Aramaic metaphor) meant give them another chance. Hala Pathukh Kheta is translated give them the other cheek which loses meaning in English. Giving someone a chance and letting someone trample you are two different things. America has to defend itself and prevent savage brutality from happening to its people. I am Iraq and a Christian speaker of Aramaic. Islam en route to expansion conquered many Christian nations. Syria and Iraq were 20% christian about a hundred years ago and were a majority about a thousand years ago, slowly they ethnically cleansed non-muslims because they were deemed a threat to muslim supremacy. It's not that different now. The Islamic fundamentalist want to force Islam on the whole world or destroy it.

For those of you who say the government is religiously neutral you are WRONG! GW Bush is very outspoken about the fact that he is (supposedly) a Christian. Yes he is being a hypocrite as most politicians are. The Catholic chuch plays a big role in the government. There are so many Catholics in this country and the way to get votes is to appeal to them. We can't have gay marriage in this country because it says so in the bible that homosexuality is bad. Stem cell research is wrong because "its just like abortion" and the Catholic church says thats wrong. Many things are based on the Catholic church or some form of Christian religious belief. Whatever happened to separation of church and state? GWB is NOT a real Christian. Just like most presidents, he portrays himself as one to get votes. That why. I don't understand how a "Christian" can support war and a war monger like Bush. I'm can't understand how he can want to harm innocent children and tear them away from their families for his so called "War on Terror". I can't understand how he can be such a heartless, selfish man and still go to church every Sunday and pretend to be a good Christian.

Yes they should take control of the Mid-east, along with other countries. As for turning the cheek, would you turn your cheek on a AK-47, or a suicide bomber. And as you calling Geogre W. Bush as a war monger, you clearly haven't taken in the threat that the Mid-East is going to be the next World War, unless ALL countries take action and put political mumbo jumbo aside, it going to be messy. Regardless of the war in Iraq the Mid-East would attack.

Yes its hypocritical for christians to be the aggressor in any situation
They have the right to defend and use force
The question is who is the aggressor - in any conflict
The people or countries who wage war are only interested in accumulating and or protecting their wealth and power
The bible says: What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet suffers the loss of his soul

The US isn't a Christian country. Despite what some people in power say. Why is it that most people who yell the loudest about being Christian seem the least like Christ? Christ was a peaceful, loving, magical guy who hung out with the poor and sick and hated people. He was a good guy. But somehow, people who are like that rarely get into political office and they often aren't even Christian. I'd like Christians to be more like Christ, not like their "religion" says to be.
I guess the people in power are religious when it suits them and capitalist scumbags when they want money and fame and stuff. I don't think Christ was much into money and possessions, but conservatives, who are often self-professed Christians, seem to be pretty pro-stuff. Oh, well. I guess they like tradition except for when it comes to Christ. Then they ignore his example in the Bible and just do what they want.

Actually America was founded in Puritan beliefs...
And please look at your Bible more closely... Especially the Old Testament. A number of times God himself INSTRUCTED his followers to take over lands from other people for different reasons... The Old Testament is not as forgiving as the New Testament and the words of Jesus...
I am not saying we should invade anywhere but it does not go against Christianity...

First of all, America is not a Christian country. It has a huge Christian population.
W- as a war monger- maybe. But he didn't fly those planes into the twin towers.
Do I agree with the war? No, but I support our military.
