None of the calzones I've gotten from a restaurant here are even close the what I could get in NY. I've found that the best calzones in Phoenix come from my own kitchen! However, since I'm not in the restaurant business here are some suggestions.
Uncle Sam's has a really good calzone. So far it's the best next to my own (and good ol' NY food). They have a location at 3217 East Shea Boulevard in Phoenix.
Oregano's is a great restaurant but, I've never had a calzone there. I've heard they are really good, though. If you decide to go there and want to try something other than a calzone, the meatball sub is awesome and the peanut butter/chocolate chip cookie dessert is to die for!! There is a location in Phoenix at 1008 East Camelback Road.
Street of New York did not have a good calzone, in my opinion. It was small and barely had any filling. Stick to their pizza, wings, and salads if you go. Can't go wrong with them!!

I DON'T LIVE IN PHOENIX, I LIVE IN MISSOURI AND CALZONES ARE THE BOMB. SHOULD LOOK AT YOUR PIZZAS PLACE TO SEE IF THEY MAKE CALZONE. CALL AROUND IS MY BEST JUDGEMENT IF YOU WONNA KNOW. I KNOW IT TAKES A LONG TIME DOING THAT BUT WILL FIND YOUR ANSWER WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR. HERE IN MISSOURI IF YOU WONNA CALZONE, HAVE TO DRIVE FAR JUST TO BUY ONE. IT'S WORTH THE DRIVE AND THE CALZONES THAT THEY MAKE ARE HUGE. AROUND $5.00 TO $7.00 JUST TO EAT ONE. ALMOST THE SIZE OF A LARGE REGULAR PIZZA.
FAT AND STUFFED WHATEVER YOU WANT INSIDE OF IT.

Go to Oreganos there is one in Tempe and in Scottsdale i dont know about phoenix
