I quit smoking 1 week and 2 days ago - yeah for me!!!! =)
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has stopped smoking and had anything like this - I am dizzy - a lot! And the top of my chest hurts - not like when you are pregnant, but like the cleavage area - I know, kinda crazy. Other than that, I feel great and have so much energy since I quit.
If you know what either of these mean - please, by all means, tell me. I thought maybe the dizziness was from oxygen levels becoming normal again, or something. I am clueless.

Good for you!!!!!!!!! I have had to stop smoking ( I'm hoping this quit for me will be permanent, but the cravings I'm having..... I don't know...) and I know the exact feelings you are talking about because I have them too. Something that I heard is a good idea is if you form healthy habits with food, exercise, and rest. I've tried to do these things but old habits really do die hard!!! Good Luck and Congratulations for quitting!

I'm a dad (that is, male) so i/ don;t know anything about hurting in the cleavage area, but am concerned about the dizziness, especially if you have 3 little ones depending on you ... its been MANY years for me, but I seem to recall some dizzy type withdrawals ... the chest pain may be angst or could be something more serious ... can you visit your Dr.?

maybe your body is going through some mean withdrawl symtoms, just breath a lot and relax. Eat well because I'm sure you have a lot of toxins you need to try and flush out of your system. My dad quit (I never started) he told me quitting made him feel like he was run over by a freight train but stick with it you're doing great, everyone says the first week is the hardest and you've already passed the hurdle, lets make it a month then a quarter year and so on.....give yourself incentives each time you hit a mildstone:)

Well done for quitting smoking! :)
Are you using patches to try and give up smoking? If so, you may be leaving the patches on for too long, and getting a high dose of nicotine going straight into your bloodstream. If so, don't leave them on for too long, and take them off when you go to bed, and possibly start using the next dose down.
If not, and you have stopped through willpower alone, first of all well done. Your dizziness and pain may well be withdrawl symptoms, but it is worth explaining your symptoms to your doctor.

CONGRATS on quitting smoking!!!!
Sounds like withdrawl symptoms to me - lack of nicotine, lung readjusting to not having smoke in them. I've watched a couple friends stop smoking and they had similar experiences. If it continues for another couple weeks or gets worse fast, however, I'd say check with a doctor.

good job quitting to smoke! but i think since you might have been smoking your body is still changing to a different level without the smoking! it seems like normal symptoms but if it lasts longer than 2 weeks you might want to see a doctor (and also if it gets worse!)

Congratulations! The body needs to cleanse itself so drink lots of water and try to stay away from smokers right now! I am not sure about the dizziness but I think that your body is having with drawls.
