Dear lee f: I am non-denominational. Under that clarification, this is what I am experienced at doing:

1. If I pray for myself - I tend to do it in the format of positive affirmation ; for what I need or desire. Before I begin, I ask the Holy Spirit to support me in my perceived need. With the energy of affirmation on my lips, and seeing myself as having, already, what I ask for (in an inner vision) and having the Holy Spirit support me through His Power - I find I have received most of what I ever asked for.

2. If I pray for a world or national situation - I remove all political connotations from it (Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not politically minded) and address what my brothers need in that situation. Jesus and The Holy Spirit love all peoples equally - in all nations. I keep their love for the All in mind. At this point, I call forth my Brother Jesus, and ask Him to intercede to the Holy Spirit, on my behalf. Then I begin laying out to Jesus what is needed and what I feel. In this manner, I am "using" Jesus in His rightful position as Intercessor to the Holy Spirit. The chain of Command is honored.

3. I pray for other people in the same manner: I ask Jesus to intercede to the Holy Spirit for "so and so" and relay my thoughts and feelings to Jesus.

The most important aspect of prayer is to align yourself with Jesus' and the Holy Spirit's Will for all - and everything. Know how THEY think , and stay in alignment with Them in your prayer. They grant all things for the highest and best good of you - and all involved. Show Gratitude to Them for all things.

I either talk or think my prayer. I do it throughout the day, sometimes just as a comment without even having to say Amen. It is a conversation that goes on between God and me all day long. It really makes my day. That's one of the proofs I have that God exists since I can feel his presence with me.

I pray silently in a quiet place . Sometimes I will go outside at night and look up into the starlit sky to say my prayers. Sometimes I will go to church when there is not service, just empty and quiet to pray. But most times when I get into bed at night.

Does prayer work? Hundreds of millions prayed for God to stop Hitler, but God did nothing and 30 million+ died. Either God is heartless, powerless, both, or does not exist at all.

I dont pray anymore because I realized I was just talking to myself.
If there realy was a GOD the world would be perfect and he wouldnt allow any of the bad things going on to happen.

When i pray i just talk to him. i repent of any sins i committed. then i tell him about my day and ask for protection because it says in the bible u have not because u ask not. then i pray for my family and i thank god for all he has done for me and for allowing me to wake up the next day. i pray that my destiny be revealed and that god's will would be done on earth as it is in heaven. but the biggest thing is have faith in your prayers and they will happen.

Prayer is conversation with God, as He moves me. Jesus made this possible because of the cross, by being the perfect, permanent sacrifice for my rebellion and sin.

I talk to God internally (in my head) and verbally, at times. God listens, and loves when I yield to his Spirit in prayer.

When I do pray it is silently at my bed or when I'm home... I'll sometimes pray in my car or at work when things have really gotten bad.. I don't do it enough and I've been trying to pray more lately.

I pray to God, the Father thankful for the Holy Spirit and in Jesus' name. I pray for Him to guide me in a life that fulfills his will, and I pray for others who request prayers.

I suggest that you make your question more specific.

I don't have a spirit or a soul. I'm a consequence only of my parents having sex, not some lie-in-the-sky. Prayer is communicating with god. THere's no god, so no prayer.
