It's only Vietnam to the extent that the media and peace activists are trying every strategy they can to turn public opinion away from supporting the war. Until then, we were winning Vietnam, but those against the war intimidated the politicians to pull back before the job was done. So, to continue your analogy, I would hope we would learn from history and stick it out, this time, until we have won the war.

"Cut and run" didn't work then, and it won't work now.

How in the (HE.. double hokey sticks) can you compare Iraq with Vietnam? We lost over 50,000 Men in Vietnam. Despite the fact that we won every battle before we prematurely handed over control back to the south.

We are using the lessons learned in Vietnam to keep that kind of thing from happening again. The 2500 Men we have lost in Iraq would be considered a skirmish during in the Civil War.

You liberal pansies forget that the price of freedom is blood. It always has been it always will be. War has never been pretty it has always been ugly. What has changed is the resolve of “mens” hearts.

After 911 we had lost 2000 innocent civilians, women, children and the entire country was calling for war. Now that we are doing something about stopping that kind of thing from happening again you want to quit. How lucky for you… how very lucky for you that you have the right to speak what you think, to live where you want and you have a Military willing to defend your rights.

Even if you don’t appreciate it.

While I don't like how things in Iraq appear to be now, at least with Vietnam communism was slowed down so that it didn't spread to the rest of SE Asia.

What lie might that be? Had we not gone to war in Iraq it is possible that many more thousands of Americans could have died by the hands of Hussein. We dont know that for sure though because he did send our troops over there to protect us. Focus your attention somewhere else. The govt is going to do these things whether we agree or not. We should just wish them well and take care of our families.

first of all please check the voting record of congress, Democrate and Republicans to see who voted for the Iraq invasion. The Clinton administration has to take just as much blame if you would bother to check the Congressional Record. It has no comparison to Vietnam (I was alive then...were you?). Grow up and please do your homework before spouting your liberal bias with no proof. How is your voting record? Did you do your part as an American citizen? (or are you even of voting age) I have family over in Iraq fighting to protect your right to say all this sh*t. Please use your energy to support our country and our troops, not to degrade them.

Thank you for re-echoing the same tired Bush-bashing comments of others. I certainly haven't seen this type of question posted before. What an original thought!

Stop parroting back leftist propaganda, genius.
