AIDS and HIV are transferred through bodily fluids; blood and semen particularly but it also exists in saliva. The HIV virus is actually very temperature sensitive so it isn't likely that it can be spread if someone with HIV spits on you. Also, it can't be spread through mosquitos...I researched this because we have some big **** mosquitos in Alaska and more AIDS/HIV up here than I am comfortable with. I guess that the virus is actually too large to pass through the beak of the mosquito??? It can also be passed through a syringe when you share a needle with someone or use a dirty needle.

Direct contact with body fluids - blood or semen. You can't get it by sitting next to someone with AIDS or by shaking their hand
(unless both of you have OPEN cuts on your hands) or using the same toilet. You either have to have unprotected sex with that person or have an open cut or sore on your person come into contact with that person's bodily fluids or sharing needles, that kind of thing.

HIV is spread by sexual contact with an infected person, by sharing needles and/or syringes (primarily for drug injection) with someone who is infected, or, less commonly (and now very rarely in countries where blood is screened for HIV antibodies), through transfusions of infected blood or blood clotting factors. Babies born to HIV-infected women may become infected before or during birth or through breast-feeding after birth.

get an infected persons' blood into your blood or their .. love juices.. (cant think of the word..)
you can do this through sharing needles, sex of any sort, and getting their blood into a wound of yours.
they say you can also get it through saliva if you drank two pints of an infected persons spit. eww. I really dont know if that's true, though.
