Use some baby powder and place it directly on the roots and brush it through. You don't need very much, but it does work.

I had this problem once - only the roots were oily and the ends were dry, oi vey!
They say apple cider vinegar helps, but it doesn't do much for me. Shampoo daily, twice if needed, with Head & Shoulders, or Pantene clarifying shampoo (<--- great stuff). If it's really bad, apply a little clarifying toner to the offending area(s). Also check your diet and stress levels, as that can do it as well.

If your hair does not get to tangled when you take a shower, do not use conditioner because that tends to make your hair more greassy. Hope this help

couple of solutions:
1. don't use conditioner
2. use a shampoo catered to your hair type
3. try not to use too many hair products (keep it natural)
4. continue doin what ur doing - rinse it at least twice a day

That in fact can make the problem worse. The more you wash it, the more natural oils your scalp will produce.
