Rusty Urine

If there's no pain associated, it's probably not a kidney stone. You would definitely feel it.

Certain food pigments can change the color of your urine. It could also be a side effect of certain medications, like tranquilizers. You probably shouldn't worry about it.

However, brown urine may contain broken-down hemoglobin, which is present if blood leaks into the urine from kidney, ureter, or bladder disease. It could also be a sign of hemolytic anemia. Brown urine could also contain muscle proteins excreted into the urine after severe muscle injury (like on an episode of House XP). If it persists for more than a few days, you should probably see a doctor, because any urine color other than the typical bright yellow is abnormal.

It could be from some irritation that has caused a small amount of bleeding somewhere in the urinary tract.
Or it could be from dehydration - causing the normal waste products removed by the kidneys to become concentrated, making the urine dark yellow or brownish yellow.

Dietary pigments, drugs, and their metabolites and various other abnormal substances contribute to the coloration of the urine sample.

Rusty urine usually means you have ingested large amounts of riboflavin or that you are dehydrated.

Females can have a bit more trouble in the Urinary tract, and it means some bleeding is present, but, where is something that your DOCTOR should investigate!

Please consult with your physician. IT is definitely NOT a normal thing! It could be something really simple and easily addressed, but, it is NOT something to speculate upon on a Yahoo Board message!

SEE A DOCTOR!!!
