Don't go there. It is a bad place. Only perverts go there.

The weather is getting better in September. Im going there in a week. My friend in Phuket says that sometimes it rains but only for a few minutes.

And you can forget about the Tsunami thingy. If it ever happen again then people would be alerted and awared this time from the experience. Everything has recovered... pretty quickly I would say (I was there last year after Tsunami 6 months after)

Have fun!

Yes, it's safe as anywhere else. It rains a lot off and on. Not the best weather for the beach. Riding around on motorbikes which can be dangerous in the hills is even worse in the rain, so be careful. But you can still have a good time. I wouldnt worry about Tsunamis though.

It is safe, just the rain that may bother you. But if you have a nice location, you can always enjoy the rain in the confort of your resort while having a spa or massage at the same time. Or even a hot spicy Thai meal. Make it a seafood meal.

It will be very much iffy for the weather. Can be sunny or can be pouring, just have to try your luck.

it's pretty safe. dont have to worry about the tsunami. same old thing would never happen again n the rain isnt a serious prob as it's not gonna rain 24/7.

It is safe, but the rain is heavy. It does not rain for really long periods at a time, but lying on a wet beach under a grey sky is no fun. Do you have to go at this time? I would not if I had the choice.

Yep, it's pretty safe if you don't mind sexual disease risk, preying gangs, no justice and Tsunami grieving among the rain on the soft sand beach, you good to go enjoy the trip and respect the local. Have fun :)!!!

Yes, it's safe. You will get rain and sunny periods. Chose your beach carefully according to your interests and you will not be bothered by "perverts".
