Slab Of Beer

A "slab" is the term used, in Australian slang, for 24 cans of beer that have been packaged together for sale in the liquor store (used most commonly in eastern Australia)
And a slab of stubbies is a collection of 24, short and fat, brown glass bottles of beer
Related to beer we have:
A "tinnie" is a can of beer
A "tallie" is a bottle of beer (750 ml or 25 oz),
A "stubby" is a 375 ml -12.5 oz- bottle of beer, so named because of its short height, but a foreign beer like Corona, would never be called a "stubby", even though it came in a stubby bottle.

do you mean a slab as in a case or a slab as in a palette that is delivered to a bar or liquor store? in either case, it is different for all beers.

Always thought it was 24, as that is how many cans are in a flat (cardboard tray).
