If you're referring to the period when they were led by Moses, Moses didn't lead them to the promised land. They were banished to the desert for rebelling while Moses was on Sinai getting the commandments. Read the Bible a little more carefully next time.

Well, the bible does have slot of screwy stuff that doesnt make sense...If you clearly notice, there are two distinct gods, a god of a specific people, and a god of all people.(Both from quotes, and from speculation if one were to ignore the quotes) Mabye that god was banished? A war of the gods it would seem perhaps?
