I guess Free Thinker would lead us believe I could communicate with my dead parents in church.
or is it your contention that Pentecostal Christians could communicate spiritualistically with god.
I don't believe in either and think that it's faith that brings you closer to god.

At the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured upon those waiting in the upper room for the comforter Jesus promised would come.
People spoke praise language to God & prophesied. Plus people could interpret what was said in a different language. Wisdom, knowledge & understanding was poured out. It was like a fire flame above every person filled with the Holy Ghost. The love of God was great. They went out and preached the Good News in boldness.
Jesus warned the religious self-righteous that to blaspheme the Holy Spirit would not be forgiven. God does not just wink at it. That is calling the Holy Spirit evil. So conscequences are immediate. If a Christian blasphemes the Holy Spirit, the discipline hurts.
Just to warn you.
Pagan Spiritism tries to usurp God's identity. So demons talk through people or do healings ? also. One needs the Holy Spirit to discern this. Spiritual discernment is also a gift of the Holy Spirit.
It is commanded to test the Spirits to see if it comes from God. Does it deny Jesus Christ has come? Does it deny the Father & the Son? Does it lead away from biblical foundational truths?Does is say that what Jesus did on the cross is worthless? Every cult denies the power of God, denies that what He did on the cross is sufficient for salvation (eternal life). Does it reject the Holy Spirit. Does it add or take away from God's Word revealed in the Holy Bible?

What, like celebrating Christmas on the 25th of December? I'm not Pentecostal, so I don't really know what you're talking about, but every modern day religion and culture has elements of Paganism (like the dates of holidays). No big deal.

traditional Christian techniques?
You worship God in Spirit and in Truth. Not after the traditions of men!!!
Paul the Apostle gave us some guidelines as how to worship.
Oh and Christians are not perfect...yet. We are to be striving for that goal however.

Most Pentecostals have been lead astray by the Devil. They would rather roll around on the floor babbling like fools then read their Bibles and know what God really wants of them.
In Christ,

pentecostals do not practice pagan spiritualism. This is a myth perpetuated by those who have no clue what they are talking about.

each type of faith borrows from others and rejects the parts they do not like.
I would think they just get "high" off of the techniques
it is a drug for them
