Exercise like hell even if every excuse I can come up with is telling me to put it off for later.

At least then I'm a bit clearer and some if not most of my neurosis are diminished.

I guess it releases endorphins and the resulting "high" keeps on giving for about 24 hours. Plus I hear it's good for you so I'm not quite an addict but pretty close.

Talking also helps but I don't always like to burden other people with my issues.

go outside... sunlight is a natural mood lifter.
some other things that work are:
physical activity... basketball, running, roller blading... any activity will release endorphins to boost your mood... even just standing up and stretching can help.
watch a funny movie or tv show.
hang out with a good friend.
have sex (alone or not)... goes along with the physical activity thing but thought i'd throw that in there.
wear a red, yellow or orange shirt... sounds weird but it works

good luck

Depends on what kind of bad mood I'm in. Sometimes the best thing for me is to indulge in an hour of "pity party" and then move on. (It's healthy to allow yourself to FEEL you feelings.) Sometimes I put on loud, fast music and do something active to kind of push the mood out of my system. I'm a singer, so for me, sometimes singing "harder" (as in style, not difficulty) or more passionate music helps me move out of the bad mood.

What usually works for me is going for a drive and listening to music that will bring back AWESOME memories. For instance, I love to listen to music from my high school days. Those were great times for me and the music from that era transports me back to those GREAT feelings. Music is amazing!!! The bad mood lifts almost immediately. Try it!!! I am sure it will work fot you too.
