I wish I knew that too. However, you should thank the xenophobes and the racists for that.

You can speak any language you want here, even make up your own! But the fact of the matter is that this country was and is a CHRISTIAN based, ENGLISH speaking country, and should remain so. If you want to go to school, get a job, receive social services, etc. you need to speak English. It's crazy to expect public schools, businesses, and state/local governments to cater to people who refuse to learn the language. Try that in another country and see how far you get. Trust me, I was stationed in Germany for three years, and off base you had to speak German or you were SOL. And regardless of what you think, this is a free country. If you don't like it here, there's always some nice sandy s.h.i.t hole like Iraq, why don't you go live there for awhile. And there you won't even have to learn English.

I don't care what language you want to speak. Don't expect me to provide an interpreter for people that don't speak English. That's on them. There has to be some method of universal language in the USA.

You are, but don't expect everyone to understand you or to hire you. The purpose of any language is to communicate. If your not willing to speak the language of the country you live in, don't cry when you can't get anything done.

you can speak whatever language you want, nothing wrong with your native language or if you want to speak a different one, but if most of the people around you speak another language, it's helpful for both parties if you learn some of it. if i moved to china, i'd like to learn mandarin so that i could talk to the people there. i wouldn't expect them to bend over backwards for one individual and learn my language. it's best for both parties.

This is america. Learn english like everyone else who has a right to be here! You are free to speak what you choose however it is never going to be our obligation to make everything bilingual. citizens understand english. i agree completely to getting the illegals outta here. all my tax dollars to those who migrate, plant their seeds and get welfare without even trying to learn english and/or pay taxes themselves. the jobs the illegals are taking could be given to the homeless CITIZENS who helped fight war, paid taxes when they got a paycheck & actually give instead of suffocating our communities with gang violence, tagging & molesters. Not that all illegals are like that, but if they'd like to stay then they have every right to after taking one class to learn english & takin a citizen test. this has absolutely nothing to do with the question .. mostly. i'm just soooo mad. ewwww ... what an ugly sight.

The Supreme Court ruled (around 1916-1920 ish) that no law may restrict the teaching or use of any language, as part of 1st Amendment protections.

you can speak it if you want, but dint expect my tax dollars to print forms in 50 different languages just because you are too lazy or to divisive to speak the language of the country in which you choose to live. We are Americans, we speak English. Get over it. Be one of us. You want to be here, then follow our rules and customs for the most part. What you do in your own home is your business, but dint expect me to print my business info and make my employees speak anything but the language of the majority and the language of the USA. You dint like it....dint come into my place business!! It will not effect me. I dint see the govt of Mexico, France or Saudi Arabia bending over backwards to print their info in English. Shut the hell up or go the hell back home. Call me what you want, but this is my country, my history and my heritage. If you want it too...join us, not divide us...
