Anyone in Texas doing agility work with their dog? I want to know how to get started in the sport, and I hear lots about other states, but not much about Texas. My 9 week old Golden is enrolled in puppy agility.

I am a long way from Texas, but I do teach agility. There are some very good books that will help you get started. I have also built an AKC regulation agility course, there are some good online plans.

I would think once you were in class you will find out more about what is going on in your area.

I don't know much about Texas... but if your dog is enrolled in puppy agility the instructors will be you best resources. If they have a good course set up there might be some people very active in agility that come just to train on a real course too... I tried my hand at agility but I have Italian Greyhounds, they are very distractable and require a ton of specific training to do agility. The place where Isis did her puppy classes has a wonderful agility program (in PA) but I became to busy to pursue it.

Best of luck to you.
