Money is the best gift. That way they'll have extra cash for the honeymoon.

You should spend enough to cover the price of your meal. This is of course a guess, but if there are 2 of you going you should spend at least $50.00 unless it is not a very formal wedding.
I have 4 kids so when the 6 of us go to a wedding I be sure to give a gift of about $100.00 (kids meals cost less).
Check to see if the person is registered. This helps because you are getting something that they want and need. If you are not sure about what they want then cash is always a good solution. I am going to a wedding in October and have decided to give cash because I know that they really need it.

i don't know about you, but i don't like to spend less than $50 on wedding gifts. speaking as someone who is married, i can tell you i appreciated all my gifts. the ones i use the most are the cooking items. the most helpful was definitely the $ my family gave. the one thing i got too much of was frames. i think i got like 15 frames. some were nice, some were not so nice.
if you know where the couple is registered, buy them a gift off their registry. then you know you are getting them something they want/need/like, etc.

well a new car/van would be nice but for just a normal person going to a weding where they know the person just a bit i would have to say a intertament center or some sort of think they can us in there new home around 100 dollors for a weding gift is good unless you real do not know then i would just give them 25 to 50 dollors in a envilop and tell something speshl about them

Most people either give monetary gifts of $50 dollars or something off the registry. But it all depends on what you can afford. If the bride (or groom) is a close friend and they know you can't give much then they should understand.

I don't like to give money as I find it impersonal. I prefer to buy off the registry. For casual friends, I spend around $50. For closer friends, around $100. For very close friends, the sky is the limit.
You might want to do a search for previous answers to this question using the search box above as it's asked several times a day. Good luck in your gift hunt! : )

It all depends if it's a sit down or buffet in or out doors what day of the week is the wedding? starting at $50-150 per head if 2 people go on invite multiply it by 2 all depends on your wallet on how deep they go....

I think that $100 is a good amount, you should give a gift worth the amount it costs for the dinner and drinks

it depends on how much you like them. also take into consideration How much you can afford to spend. and the perfect gift alway's look at thier registrys then pick something out that you love and know that your friends will like out of it!

I think money is the only way to go. You should cover your plate. Typically it's around 100 dollars a person. Bringing any other type of gift is tacky.
