Brianna the goddess, how corrupted can you possibly be to accuse someone of egotism. Do you realize how ridiculously egotistical the name you use is, and how ill mannered you come off not demonstrating any respect whatsoever. You are accusing others of exactly the character traits yourself display. In case we are not dealing with an adolescent here. You may want to seek some professional help. And yes, if you where a true goddess you would not be so miserable. Look up the meaning of the word egomaniacal sometime. Know yourself.
No charge for the spanking.
. Just a favor for you miss goddess.

God asks people to pray for all people (Matthew 5:44-45) all the time (Romans 12:12) and be humble about it (Matthew 6:6-8). Also we need guidance in how we pray (Romans 8:26). Psalms is a very good source of many prayer examples.
Yes there many rude and arrogant Christians who love their religion and way of life more than God. So the pray to get what they want. (Matthew 6:2-5,7,16) egotism and all. They make God's house into a den of thieves (Matthew 21:13, Mark 11:17-18).
So please pray for those rude and arrogant Christians. (No Joke)

Maybe the "christians who you have come in contact with are not really who they say they are. I am a christian myself i am never hateful or ingnorant towards anyone who's belief is different from mind. The christians i know including myself are all about handling our fathers(GOD) buisiness which is spreading the truth wich is his word and being the light and salt of the earth so when unbelievers like yourself if you are one can see the christ in us and believe in him as well. The reason why alot of christian say they will pray for someone is because most of the time god has shown them their heart and where they are hurting and that tells us we need to pray for that person. So when someone tells you that they want to pray for you, it just mean they see where you are hurting and praying that god will mend where your hurting and deliver you from whatever has you bound. So dont think that all christians are ignorant, arrogant, and think they are GOD because none of us can even come close to how great JESUS is. You when come in contact with a real christian and you will remember what i wrote and others wrote to answer your question.

No. I don't. They're trying to be caring and helpful. They may not know what else to say, so they say that they'll pray for you. It's sort of like saying I'm sorry when they hear someone in your family has died. They believe in God. They believe that God has helped them. So they'll pray to God that S/he
will help them figure out how to do the right thing for you or send someone/something to help you. They want you to find peace and comfort in a difficult time. They're not always trying to be rude, egotistical, holier than thou. So relax. Stop being insecure, insensitive, ignorant or whatever and just say thank you the next time it happens. If they start preaching to you and pushing their beliefs onto you that's another issue.

I'll pray for your sense of understanding and tolerance to return and your ignorance to be gone.
I have no high and mighty attitude, nor do I say "I'll pray for you" to push my beliefs on you or others, it is simply my way of saying that I care and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. This is a compliment, not an insult.
By the way, my statement above is a intentionally sarcastic response to your loaded question.
Let me help you rephrase for next time, so you won't blatantly offend all the egotistical Christians: Why do christians say I'll pray for you when you don't share their beliefs? (Pay attention to the proper grammar and punctuation) That's it, no insults necessary.
Oh, and how do we know you don't share our beliefs? For all we know you might be a Christian, or you do know that Hindus, Buddhists, Mormons, Jews and Muslims pray too?

I think you just THINK they have a high and mighty attitude, because nonbelievers have told you that Christians are "Holier than Thou" which there ARE some that are but the majority I meet are nothing like that.
To say "I'll pray for you" isn't meant as an insult or put down. Praying for people is to wish good things on them. How is that bad? If you take it bad then thats you.
When someone tells you they're a Christian, do you say something nice to them? Like maybe "I wish you the best" which would be an equal statement.... or do you just rush to think they think they're better than you or maybe give them a hard time? I see here from your statement you already have prejudged Christians and BEING hateful and arrogant. Is that how you would like to be seen as well?

It really depends on the context. If you say, "hey, i'm muslim" or something, and they say that, yea, they're being an ***. But in general, if something bad has befallen you, its just a gesture of good will. Its by no means supposed to be arrogant. They are merely saying they will ask the god they believe in to help you out. I'm sorry if you think just because you may not believe in the same god, that you have to hate everyone who doesn't believe what you do.
Its the same sort of thing as saying "Merry Christmas" or a Jew or "Happy Hannukah" to a Christian. Some people, who I really despise because of their ignorance, take offence to such statements, when really its just a gesture of good will. If you really want to take it apart, by saying that, you're wishing someone a happy December 25th, or the week of Hannukah. Mostly, don't take offence to someone else's kindness; just because you don't share their beliefs, doesn't mean you have to be a jackass.

Sounds like someone else is being hateful too?.?. Does that make you better (spewing your poisonous words) then us(Christians)?
Just because you've had a disagreement with a Christian or two, perhaps more depending on your opinions or attitude (as well as theirs) try not and group us all together. I don't know any hateful Christians...ignorant or arrogant either.
Did you ever think that the people you are dealing with here on the Internet might be lying and not who they say they are? Hmmm...
I am not God. I never thought I was God...matter of a fact, I couldn't even come close to being God. I concede this willingly.
When someone prays for you, perhaps they are praying that you may soften your heart. Maybe it was something you said? Who knows. I when I pray for someone...it's not my will I am asking for; it's for God's will to be done! However, since you don't believe...why is it an issue?
May you one day, find the Grace of the Living God and His Son Jesus!
((Don't worry, if you don't want me to pray for you...I won't).

I honestly think all people, regardless of religion, should just get along. I'm actually agnostic, not Christian, but I have something to say to you. Are you listening? You call Christians hateful, ignorant and arrogant. You really think calling them that doesn't make you the same? Think about it.

I'm not a cristian, and I think that maybe they are just doing something that they believe to be right. Just because they want to pray for you doesnt make them egotistical, hatefull, ignorant, or arrogant, they are just doing what they believe to be right. I pray a lot for people of beliefs other than mine, I pray that they might one day have the contentment with themselves and their beliefs that they not judge me for mine. I don't think most of them mean any harm by it I think they just only know what they are taught. Is'nt name calling judgemental too, who are we (non-christians) to judge christians for their beliefs??
