I am 12 yrs old and I'm going to the 7th grade I think I should have a boyyfriend because I am very pretty and when I asked a boy he said that I was to idependent and needed to lose my independece and my virginity and I told him I was going to stay a virgin until I get married I need help.

Focus on being an honor student. Find a boy who is also an honor student. He will appreciate that you are independent and a virgin. He will respect you. You and he may study together and reinforce each other throughout school. You will not have to worry about finding another boyfriend.
Start by focusing on being an honor student. Stay independent and even aloof until you meet that boy who is an honor student too. Your parents will be happy, his parents will be happy, you will be happy, he will be happy and you will be building a strong foundation for your future.

Why should you have a boyfriend? Because you are pretty? Being with someone has nothing to do with looks it's about character. It should not be because every girl in the 7th grade has a guy and you don't. If you want to keep your virginity till marriage, hold off on the boyfriend until you are ready for that time.

Kudos to you for sticking to your guts and not giving in to this boy. He needs to get a life. And trust me on this, having a boyfriend, even a popular boyfrend, does not make you popular overnight. If you really like a boy, and there is a boy who likes you for you, then maybe it would work out. But just because you are pretty, it doesn't mean you need a boyfriend. There are lots of pretty single girls (Like me! :) And don't stress out about the age thing, plenty of girls don't have a real boyfriend till high school! I hope this helps
