This is bothering me lately as I am Catholic and Republican. I am starting to think Jesus was just a left wing nut. Turn the other cheek and all that stuff. What do you think? Was Jesus just another liberal/commie.progressive?

Jesus was a republican.

He wasn't a liberal commie....he did believe that the way to serve Christ is to help others and expect nothing in return.

For instance, he would never go on a 10K run to fight cancer and wear a badge saying that he was fighting cancer, like the liberal runners do. They think they "care". But Jesus said do your good deeds and giving in private for no one to see (Like George Steinbrenner who gives away millions...didn't know that did you?) except for god.

So, rethink this thing...you'll agree.

Also he wanted people not to be lazy...that is a sin.

Turning the other cheek is a sign of strength. The gay lifestyle is sinful....how could he be a liberal? Give to Caesar shows that you must obey the law of the land as determined by the government. He paid his taxes and didn't expect a government to provide for him. He said God will provide.

He asked for nothing. How could he be a liberal? (he did ask for water from the woman at the well, but that was to strike up a conversation...)

He made the fruit trees dry up and die if they did not produce good fruit. Couldn't be a liberal tree-hugger.

I could think of more but Seinfeld is coming on!

Liberals are not communists. If you are going to be a responsible American citizen, you might want to learn exactly what America is and what it isn't. Learn what its political parties are and are not. Also, brush up on communism so you understand what you are saying when you use the word.

That would take study, though.

Anyways, no, Jesus was not a left-wing nut. Jesus was not a politician, nor did he support or refuse to support politics. Jesus didn't care about politics, evidenced in part by his healing of the Roman centurion's servant, much to the consternation of his followers. Nor did Jesus defend himself from the Jews or from the Romans in any court of law. And so forth. If you READ your Bible, then you will be able to discern what and who Jesus was and is.

This would require study, though.

No. He was for the right thing. Making Him neither liberal, Republican or Democrat.
We have to stop trying to put Him in a box. He is divine, He is the Son of God, the Light of this world.

Jesus was neither liberal or conservative. These terms are political. Jesus was holy....a religious term. It's all about knowing the difference.
