What is in it that makes it explode? And what if you keep the cap on- will it just go right off. And on YOUTUBE I watched someone drink it and it exploded could that effect any organ in the body? Or could it effect anything? HELP! I'm very very curious.

Ha ha Mentos and Coke. I tried that on my Birthday! I heard that the reason for the effect is the surface of the Mentos is smooth and that causes it. Now for the drinking part. I heard that if you drink it and THEN put the Mentos in and eat them, then you would most likely vomit. I don't think that it affects any organs. Just makes you throw up. I love this experiment. If ya want a full effect use 13 mentos with a big bottle of Coke. It'll shoot up really high! Have fun but be safe!

Either the people on you tube ate too many Mentos or they faked the organ exploding because on mythbusters they put mentos in their mouth and absolutely nothing was wrong with them. And they did not puke for whoever the genious was who wrote that. We did it at school with four menots and a 2 liter diet coke. Diet coke has the biggest reaction b/c of four ingredients inside of it and the foamr comes from when you place the mentos inside the small craters in the candy allow air the is in the liquid to bubble rapidly.

Mythbusters did a segment on Diet Coke and Mentos, it was really cool. They put mentos in an empty 2 liter bottle and added mentos some soda put cap on and it exploded. I have included the web address in case you want to read more about it. Yes, it can be dangerous. Hope this helped.
