Oh my word - ginger ginger, geez, what colour could that be? ORANGE people... ORANGE.

It is possible to have a ginger female but since males only need to have the orange gene on one chromosome to become ginger, and females have to have it on two, ginger males outnumber females 3 to 1.

So I wouldn't call the colouring rare, but there are less of them than ginger boys!

For the umm, not to brights up above me, ginger is the colour of the cat, coloured liks a ginger-snap cookie. And yes, there's plenty of female ginger cats here in Australia, so I don't knw if it's just in the US or what. The only thing I know that has a thing that differentiates on the sex of the cat is calico, it's very hard to find a male calico cat.

Female ginger cats are NOT rare. Statistically because of their genes these cats have a 75% probability of being male, 25% probability of being female.

We had a litter of four female orange, long-haired kittens at the shelter in San Francisco.

I have a female Ginger that lives a couple of blocks away. Neighbor's cat is male. My Kinsey is a male.

The only sex-related colors that I'm aware of are:

Calico cats, which are female and

Red (orange) cats, which are male.

Don't think "ginger" is a color associated with their sex.

It's all simply a matter of personal preference. I have short hair and guys such as it. And i prefer a guy with short hair over a man with long hair because long hair tends to make guys look as well girly.
