Sure they would, in their world. Washiongton warned about european wars and alliances in his farwell address when he left office. For that matter, they would be appalled at World War I and II, Spanish American war, Mexican war and pretty much every military action since the War of 1812. They lived in a different time when the world was much larger. The world has shrunk. You mentiomn Vietnam was not a threat, but the soviet union was, and their money and troops helped push the North Vietnamese to move forward, and they had plans after securing SE asia to move out, wanting to do what we called the Domino theroy. Peace activist say this was false, but it was also their plan and we stoped it. As for Iraq......they werent a threat, they just wanted to conquer the world. The invade Kuwait, and was preparing to attack Saudi Arabia. We went in when we was asked to help to stop someone who threatened to take back land that belonged to them. Sounds like Hitler, need for living space uniting like speaking people. I know you dont like my answer, but i am not running for political office, i dont have to keep everyone happy with my opinion.

I don't know about Vietnam but the current situation and our foreign policies in the middle east sure would have them turning in their graves. They would be shocked indeed to see that we are behind the killing of so many innocent civilians of a country who did nothing to us as well as to find out that we happily support murderers and apartheid states both monetarily and publicly as they commit crimes against humanity. But then, some of them...George Washington for example speculated this would happen that is why we have the right to bear arms to protect us from the corruption in the government.

Our forefathers put on their pants one leg at a time and farted just like the rest of us. War sucks and it's crazy. We're the same bullies as the Hezbollah and Al Qaida but we're no better than many of the others. Where's Gandhi when you need him?

Of course they would be appalled. Our forefathers would not be acting like near the p.ussies we are acting like today. You need to look up your American history if you want insight to our forefathers. Our country was not founded on being nice to our fellow man. In fact, our forefathers would probably be wondering why the middleeast is not a US territory yet.

Just like they would by the notion of enslaving millions of Africans that started no fight with them, or like the idea of slaughtering the native Americans....
Yes they would indeed be appalled.

I don't approve of the way we entered the war. But don't give me that forefather bullshit! Our forefathers wouldn't have approved of the end of slavery! Try another argument!

not at all. we fought for our liberty and freedom. and we did the same for others. pulling out of Nam was a mistake. we were winning but just like Iraq its become so politically spun and misrepresented by the media, the truth got blind sided.
