It definitely did. 3 or 4 years before I became pregnant with my son, my mom gave me a present of a little turn-of-the-century rocking chair with a little rose carved into the back, which she and my dad had refinished themselves. She chose it for me just because she thought I'd think it was pretty. but the last thing she said to me that day was "You can rock your baby in it". We both blushed because we had never openly talked about how or whether I might become a mom, and my mom was never the type to pester me about when was she going to get grandkids.
Then in the first few years after my son was born, I don't know what we would have done without her. She babysat for us twice a week so that I could return to my job...we couldn't have afforded childcare. She was always at the other end of the phone line when I had important questions like "Did I do the right thing bringing a child into such a messed-up world?" and also for stupid ones like "I can't figure out how to work the baby monitor". My dad was around and helped a lot too, but bless him, the man just would not change a diaper.
I lost my mom to cancer about a year and a half ago, quite suddenly. It would be useless to try to express how much I miss her. When I'm missing her the most, I look at my son (now 6) and think "My mom's blood is running through his veins, so in that sense, she is still with me." So when I really really need a hug from my mom, I hug my son.

Talk to a guidance councillor about it they are good people to talk to about this stuff you should have a councillor in your school if not you can always talk to a teacher about how its bugging you.(I suggest going to a female teacher instead of mail teacher so it won't be so awkward) and if your mom gets angry again and threatens you you have every right to call child help if you want or you can talk to your teacher about it again. I also find righting poetry helps to. I doesn't even have to rhyme it can be free verse no rhymes what so ever as long as you get everything out of your mind and out in to the air or on paper :D hope this helps :D

I have always been close to my Mom. I think since I have had kids we are closer. It is easier to understand why she was the way she was. Now that I am a mom I can relate to her a lot better, which makes it easier to talk to her about stuff.

My Mother has always been close to me, and my sister. She sort grew up with us. We could tell her anything, rather than do it behind her back. And we turned out to be pretty good adults. Now having kids gave us more to share with her. She loves the grand babies.

Before she passed away a few years ago she and I were close. I listened to most of her advice on raising my son and it helped me a lot. I miss her every day.

I think having kids really opened my eyes about something and it did change my relationship with my mom. We are quite a bit closer.
Althought when it comes to my mom's intimate relationship with her husband (stepdad), I plug my ears and start saying "LALALALALALALALA"
