I don't know what is wrong with me. I don't know if I need to see a doctor. I love my life, but am feeling so down. I cannot sleep, cannot concentrate and am getting nothing done at work. I am un-motivated and want to sleep 24-7. I want to lie in bed all day. I want to drive and just go somewhere and not stop. What is wrong with me? Should I see a doctor?

You should ask yourself if there is a specific time this started for you-did anything unusual happen lately to trigger this? I have struggled with depression my entire life(32 yrs), and I am sure that what you are describing is most definitely depression. But don't take my opinion as gold. You should go to see a doctor AS SOON as possible, before things get really bad for you and so you can deal with it quickly. I wish you all the best, and remember that you need to talk to somebody. Talking about it will definitely help you to be able to understand yourself and what you are feeling, and to get some help. You cannot get help if you do not ask for it. If you want to talk, email me, I am here. Good luck and take care of yourself!

I definatly think you should see a doctor. It sounds like depression to me. I have the same thing. I love the things in my life but nothing seemed to make me happy, I couldn't sleep at night, concentration was down the tube and I contstantly felt tired and didn't eat anything. I am now on meds and I am fine. Talk to your doctor and see what they suggest. Good Luck

You definitely should see a doctor. Preferably a psychiatrist, because they are not only more familiar with depression, anxiety, etc., but are also up to date on the newer drugs to treat it. I would either ask your regular doctor to recommend one, or ask around and find the one that is recommended the most. Trust me I've been through this for 25 years and know how you feel.

Ya i know. every one feels like that, to some degree. i some times want to cry for no reason. i sometimes get irritated for no obvious reason. i sometimes feel sooooooooooo blueeeeeeeee. i have had this since i was 17, i am now 33. what i learned was it always goes away eventually. sometimes in a few days sometimes in a few weeks. i have learned not to make important life decisions when i am under its influence. also, quitting alcohol and exercising daily helped. u dont have to see a doctor. whoever u see will put u on prozac.paxil/celexa or his favorite. believe me i know, thats what i do when i get some whiny/needy patient in my practice.
the only thing u might want to ask your doctor is to make sure your thyroids levels are normal as low thyroid can cause depression.
take care and avoid drugs (both legal and illegal)

If this funk continues another week, see a doctor.
It sounds like clinical depression to me.
Good luck.

Yes. Your id says you work from home, so I would suggest you exercise (helps with depression) and get out more. Also see your doctor.
