Yes if the food is contaminated with botulin which will cause botulism a very serious and possibly fatal form of food poisoning. Ptomaine food poisoning is not as bad and you will be very sick but won't die. That is why sanitary conditions are very important when preparing and keeping foods.I have had Ptomaine poising and you will be in agony. As to botulism, I don't know the symptoms between the two.

Not sure but probably you could die. I had food poisoning many years ago by eating at a fish restaurant. I vomited all night long so it had to be bad fish or oil. I was the only one who ate fried fish. I still believe the oil must have been funky.
Good Luck with it and if you start vomiting then your probably going to be just fine after a few hours.

If you suspect food poisoning take some powdered slippery elm, like a tablespoon in hot hot water mixed to a paste-like consistency. It works fast! Activated charcoal is another remedy to have on hand.
Oregano Oil is another that bacteria and virus can't stand up against. (Young Living brand is the best)

Yes, you can die from food poisoning if it's serious enough. The intestines become infected, kidneys and liver shut down, and you dehydrate as well as dying in your own body's poisonous by products. I know because I work in foodservice and it's my job to know about it.
